Social media nowadays not anymore bad to students?

Social Media Nowadays is Not Anymore a Curse to the Study Habit of the Students, New Study Finds.

Most schools ban Facebook as well as all applications that provide access to social media. Some parents do not allow their children to use social media for the reason that it negatively affects their study habits. However, a study conducted by graduate students discovered that it is not anymore the trend. Social media is deeply incorporated into the lifestyle of the students and taking it away from it perhaps affects their interaction with their classmates and lost learning updates.

The research was conducted in order to reevaluate the influence of social media addiction on the study habits of the senior high students in the selected schools. The researchers used a descriptive correlation method of research which involved the survey of a total of 150 senior high students.  The statistical tools used in the study were the Mean, Pearson Product Moment Correlation and linear regression.

The level of social media addiction among senior high students is high and their habit is also high. There is a significant relationship between social media addiction and the study habits of senior high students. This means that the study habit of senior high school students is dependent on their social media addiction. The more they utilized social media the more study habits increases and somehow improves their awareness of the topic at hand.  The study shows that the social media addictions of the students do not significantly influence their study habits of senior high school students.

These findings require educators to reevaluate the classroom instruction and challenge them to integrate social media into instructions.
